Noel Naval Tata was born in 1957 in Mumbai, India. He is the son of Naval Tata and Simone Tata. Noel has two half-brothers, Ratan Tata and Jimmy Tata, from his father’s first marriage, making him part of one of India's most influential business families.

Noel Tata completed his early schooling in Mumbai before moving to the UK for further studies. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Sussex, and later attended the prestigious International Executive Programme at INSEAD business school in France to hone his business skills.

Noel Tata has held several key positions within the Tata Group, including: Director of Titan Industries and Voltas (appointed in 2003), Managing Director of Tata International (2010-2021), His leadership helped grow Tata International’s revenue from $500 million to over $3 billion during his tenure.

On October 11, 2024, Noel Tata was appointed Chairman of Tata Trusts following the passing of his half-brother, Ratan Tata. Tata Trusts holds a significant 66% stake in Tata Sons, the parent company of the Tata Group, making his new role crucial for the future of the conglomerate.
