The Flower's final seasons in Minnesota showed his enduring value. Even at 39, his athleticism was elite. Also his puck-handling skills remained elite too. More importantly, he became a mentor to younger players. This was sharing wisdom from his nearly 1,000 career games.
Thursday's game at Xcel Energy Center. This was turned into a tribute. Wild fans chanted "Fleury! Fleury!" as time expired. Teammates tapped their sticks on the ice in salute. Opponents from Vegas embraced the man who once carried their franchise.
