3 held for sexual assault on minors

Chennai: The city and its suburbs witnessed three separate cases of sexual assault, leading to the arrests of three men under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.At Vyasarpadi, a 16-year-old girl was found to be three months pregnant after being admitted to Govt Stanley Hospital with severe stomach pain. After doctors alerted the mother, she lodged a complaint at the Vyasarpadi police station. Police identified the abettor, a 19-year-old man, and arrested him.At KK Nagar, a 17-year-old girl, working as a construction worker, went missing four days ago. Her parents, unable to trace her, lodged a complaint with KK Nagar police. Authorities tracked her phone location, which led them to the accused, a 19-year-old man. A police team rescued the minor and registered a case.In Pallavaram, a 25-year-old a key maker from Polichalur tried to sexually assault a 17-year-old girl who was home alone. When the girl raised an alarm, the neighbours rushed to her rescue, leading to the man's arrest.
