ChatGPT is currently down for users worldwide. According to website performance tracking tool – Downdetector, thousands of users are impacted by this global outage. “Increased errors for ChatGPT, Sora, and API,” read a statement from the company. If further added “We are continuing to investigate this issue.” OpenAI has not yet provided any details regarding the cause or the extent of the outage.

ChatGPT outage: Details

The latest ChatGPT's downtime is affecting a significant number of users. As many as 26,000 people across the globe have reported facing issues with the AI tool. Downdetector indicates a spike in complaints around 9:19 AM, with the number continuing to rise as more users report problems.
Around 92% reported facing problems with ChatGPT. While other 7% and 1% are error on website and API.

This isn’t the first time ChatGPT has experienced downtime. A similar outage occurred in December, which was acknowledged by OpenAI.

ChatGPT memes flood Twitter

Frustrated users took to microblogging site X (formerly Twitter) to report.
“Chat GPT DOWN! Its understandable for a lot of people to be pissed right now!,” wrote one user.

“Everyone is running towards 𝕏 to see if Chatgpt is down.”
