How to make South Indian-style Adai dosa at home

Easy South Indian-style Adai dosa recipe

Want to eat something healthy and tasty for breakfast? Then add this traditional South Indian dish to your morning menu and enjoy a healthy and tasty meal in just a few minutes. Adai dosa is a delicious South Indian treat that is loaded with protein, fiber and healthy carbs and is a perfect addition to the diet.

Ingredients:

1 cup rice, 1/2 cup chana dal, 1/4 cup urad dal, 1/4 cup toor dal, 1/4 cup moong dal,1-2 dried red chilies, 1/2 inch ginger piece, a handful of curry leaves, salt to taste, water and oil as needed.

Step 1

To begin with this easy recipe, wash and soak the rice and all the lentils together in plenty of water for about 4-5 hours or overnight.

Drain the soaked ingredients and grind them into a coarse batter using a little water. The texture should be slightly thick.

Step 3

Transfer the batter to a bowl. Add finely chopped curry leaves, grated ginger, chopped green chilies, and salt. Mix well. The batter should be thick but pourable. Let it ferment.

Step 4

Heat a tawa or non-stick pan over medium heat. Add oil or ghee.

Step 5

Pour a ladle of batter and spread it in a thick circle. Drizzle a little oil around the edges and cook until the bottom is golden brown and crisp.

Flip and cook the other side for a minute.

Serve your Adai Dosa hot with Coconut chutney, Thoran or Sambhar.
